Scholarships
Finding the right funding is all about knowing where to look and staying ahead of the deadlines. Whether you’re eyeing a full ride or a reliable safety net, here is the breakdown:
Portals. Most private and public unis offer Merit (based on grades) or Talent (sports/arts) scholarships. Check your campus “Financial Aid” page first.
Government & GLCS: Keep an eye on JPA, Yayasan Khazana, Petronas, and Bank Negara. These are competitive but often cover everything.
Foundations: Organizations like Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman or Kuok Foundation offer great support for all-rounders.
The PTPTN Backup
If scholarships don’t work out, PTPTN is the go-to. It’s almost guaranteed if you’re a Malaysian student in an MQA-accredited course.
Pro Tip: If you graduate with First Class Honours, you can apply to convert the loan into a scholarship (waiving repayment entirely!).
Quick Tips
Apply Early: Most windows open right after SPM/STPM results.
Maintain Your Grades: You usually need a GPA of 2.0 to keep your PTPTN active.
Prepare Documents: Have your parent’s payslips and offer letters ready in PDF format.
